FPI

What is FPI?

This, where installed, will provide a mean of indicating the passage of fault current along the medium voltage overhead line and It shall be made of Fault detection systems with LED falsh0ing and wireless communication to be installed on Medium Voltage Overhead Electric networks. It must be positioned in strategic locations, for example at the start of each branch and at the location of manual switchgear. Send fault location message to pre-set person

Trigger

Inrush filtering

  • It depends whether it is inactive or active in case that the current on conductor is higher than pre-set fault current.

Reset

  • By FCS program / By Magnetic / Reset after the set time has elapsed

Setting item

  • Set GrID, PoleID, ToID, frequency, Fault current limit, Fault detect time, Total LED operating time, LED operating interval after LED ON.
  • Complete setting and start self-transmission automatically

Wake Up

  • Approach magnetic to Reed S/W at least 2 second
  • Operate self-transmission if it does not set
  • Go to sleep mode after self-transmission ten times if it does set

Sleep mode

  • It goes to sleep mode after complete FCS set
  • Set time at FCS initialize : ex) 2 min / No.1 select , 10 min / No.2 select

Self-transmission

  • Start self-transmission according to wake up call (10 times)
  • Self-transmission interval : 6s

Notice presence status

  • Auto converting from Sleep Mode to Active Mode at pre-set time
  • Notice delay time : FCS ID * 3s : ex) No. 1 = 3초, No. 9 = 27s

RF modem : ON

  • Data : Battery current, floating current, inactive/ active
  • Retry : 12s interval , 5 times(1 min)
  • Time synchronize after receive command from master
  • Notice fault if fault current and inactive on conductor
  • Retry when communication failure : 12s interval, 5 times(1 min)

RF modem : OFF

  • Active Mode -> Sleep Mode

Notice fault status

  • Occurring fault current at minimum 3 cycle : Sleep Mode -> Active Mode
  • Fault current parameter
  • Identify floating Voltage during fault decision duration.
  • Decide inactive or active voltage on conductor during fault decision duration
  • Archive Current parameter after pass fault decision duration

Capacity of data sorage : 10 events

LED operating

  • Wake Up : Lighting from No. 1 LED to No. 8 LED in serial order
  • Fault current : Operate according to set interval and duration time
  • Fault reset : Blinking 10 times (0.2s ON/ 0.2s OFF)


Time synchronize

  • After Master response
  • Synchronized PC time when set parameter by FCS monitoring program
